On 25th January 2016, the head of
the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko took part in the first
youth socially-political forum Freedom, Conscience, Justice and Equality.
This forum was dedicated to plans of
development of the Republic. Young activists, leaders of the student movements
of the DPR attended this event. The meeting was held in the Donbass national
academy of Building and Architecture in Makeyevka.

Zakharchenko to the young people of the South-East of Ukraine

“Friends!
I heartily greet my young fellow countrymen,
residents of the South-East on the Day of Youth! For my part, in fact, for all
the Donbass, you’re like relatives and family. Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa,
Kharkov and Nikolayev, Kherson and Zaporozhye – these are beautiful Russian
cities, true sister cities of Donetsk and Lugansk.
However, today, everyone in the southeast, but
especially young people, are living through hard times. To maintain their grip
on power, the Ukrainian oligarchs allied themselves with fascists, the worst
enemy of our people. When you raised up your voices against extremism, when you
openly protested against their alien ideology, the criminal regime in Kiev
declared war on our people. Their actions led to the burning, imprisonment, and
disappearance of thousands of people. They sicced their forces on the Donbass,
but we repulsed the aggressors; with guns in our hands, we won our freedom. It
was hard, but we survived; today, we’re building our independent and fair
state.
I urge you, the young people of the southeast, to
cast aside all your fears, to unite your efforts, and present a united front
against the occupation regime.
Free yourselves, be masters in your own land; stand
up to defend your culture, traditions, and mother tongue!
Today, you’re young, strong, and courageous; on you
alone depends the future of your country, the welfare of your family and
friends, and our common peace and prosperity!”

An alley in memory of the fallen defenders of
Donbass has been officially opened in the Lenin Komsomol Park in Donetsk.
The event was attended by a few hundred
people, including the DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko, Donetsk Mayor Igor
Martynov, the Executive Commander of Corps of the DPR Defense Ministry Eduard
Basurin, representatives of DPR ministries and departments.
At the beginning of the ceremony,
Zakharchenko addressed to the Great Patriotic War veterans and thanked them for
their feats, experience and an example of love of country.
“Thanks to these defenders, we are alive.
Thanks to the things they taught us, we’re defending our land. Today, we’re
honouring the memory of not only the guys died in Donbass, but also the valiant
army of our fathers and grandfathers who defended their rights in 1941-1945,” –
Alexander Zakharchenko said.
All those present also honoured the memory of
soldiers-internationalists who had fought in Afghanistan, Angola, Vietnam and
many other countries.
“Any nation, which forgets its history, is
the nation that has lost,” – Zakharchenko added.
The participants of the event observed a
moment of silence in memory of the defenders of Donbass. After that, they
planted 100 trees.
The memory alley in the Lenin Komsomol Park
became the continuation of the alley of angels dedicated to the children killed
by the Ukrainian forces. A sign installed in the memory alley reads “Eternal
memory to the heroes died for the freedom and independence of our Motherland”.

congratulates all the young people on International Youth Day!

Now it is time for the young people in our
republic. We know that there are the representatives of the youth organizations
in all cities of the DPR, the number of activists is increasing every day.
Thousands of boys and girls are joining different youth associations now. The
biggest youth organization in the DPR is the "Young Republic" that
has already about 10,000 members.
Our young people are directly involved in the
development of the Republic - they work out social projects, make efficient
proposals for the development of different economic and industrial sectors and
put into life the ideas of the patriotic education.
The citizens of the Donetsk People's Republic are
forced out of defending their homeland. Boys and girls on a par with the
experienced fighters on the battlefields shed their blood for the fate of our
young Republic.
You are our future. Everything we do we mainly do
for you. But I am convinced that without your help, without your selfless
participation in the formation of a powerful independent state we will fail.
On International Youth Day I would like to
congratulate not only those citizens who are from 16 to 35 years old but people
of other ages as well. I would like to wish all of us to be always young, keep
the youthful enthusiasm, vitality and self-belief regardless of age. And then
any task will be within our scope of abilities. Happy Youth Day!

Aleksandr Zakharchenko, the Head of the
Donetsk People’s Republic, congratulated the students of the State’s universities
on the Tatyana’s Day having highlighted the importance of the Patriotism of the
younger generation to the victories of the State. The congratulations of the
Head of the Republic were voiced at the youth-socio-political forum of the USSR
in Makeevka.
