SAME SEX MARRIAGE IS FORBIDDEN IN THE D.P.R



 

Since January 2016, 568 marriage registrations were held in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The first marriage according to the republic ‘s law had been registered on July 29, 2015.

Kiev’s issue of same-sex marriage is not relevant to DPR

The lawmakers of the Donetsk People’s Republic in contract to their colleges in Kiev do not consider the possibility of legalizing the same-sex marriage.  


‘In Republic there is the clear position - a man must marry a woman and the same-sex marriage will be there never. It is not a part of our mentality,’ pointed out Yulia Sulim, the Chairman of the Committee of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic on Social and Residential policy.  


Sulim expressed her confidence that the initiative of the Kiev government would be not supported by majority of the residents of Ukraine.
