Interview of a DPR soldier: We are waiting for Ukrainian army attack, but they change the date all the time because they are afraid

  

In August 2016, during our visit of the front line in Luganskoye, we were able to interview several soldiers, as well as the commander of the unit located here.

At the checkpoint located on the front line, we have interviewed the soldier known as "Said", who serves here since almost two years. As many soldiers we met before, he describes army, and mostly his unit, like a real family:

« The thing I like here at the checkpoint is the friendly team. We aren't almost changed here, living here like one family. That is the thing I like most. […] We are like a family. We are all like brothers already here. »

During this interview, the new ceasefire was not yet in force, and this area was frequently shelled, and in expectation of a Ukrainian offensive which would bury the Minsk agreements. An offensive which is constantly postponed because the enemy's fear, according to this solider:

« We have been waiting for this, but Ukraine is preparing to attack since more than a year and a half. They have a new date all the time. There is no sense in it. […] I know for sure that they are afraid. »

A fear which seems to be justified when you hear some comments from this soldier:

« One day we come and Donetsk Republic will be in its borders. »
