Head of DPR signed law on freedom of belief in the Republic

The Рead of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko signed the law "On Freedom of Belief and Religious Associations", declared the press service of the DPR People’s Council.

"On July 13, 2016 the Head of the Republic Alexander Zakharchenko signed the Law of the Donetsk People's Republic "On freedom of belief and religious associations", adopted by the People’s Council of the Donetsk People's Republic on June 24, 2016," reported the Parliament.

The normative legal document regulates legal relationship at implementation of human and citizen rights for freedom of worship. Besides, it provides obligatory registration of all the religious organizations by the Ministry of Justice.

Earlier the developer of the document, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Olga Makeyeva reported that for counteraction of extremist, terrorist and sectarian activity in the religious organizations there will be actively carried out planned and unscheduled inspections.

According to the People’s Council, the adopted law comes into force the next day after its official publication, that is since July 15.
