Donbass residents victories in 2018

The Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander
Zakharchenko congratulated the inhabitants of Donbass on the New Year.
"I will not speak about war. For all
of us, the war has become a routine fact of life. Today I want to speak about
peace, because the peace is what we are fighting for, working for, building and
restoring. We are building, despite the war," the congratulation says.
"Dear fellow countrymen, I wish you all happiness and goodness, love and
joy. Let 2018 be the year of victories and achievements for the benefit of our
Motherland."
The Head of the DPR noted that the year 2017 was
rich, full of positive transformations and important events. According to
Zakharchenko, the Republic managed to resume the work of the largest
enterprises, preserve the production potential of the state, save working
places, and increase revenues to the budget.
"In order to live and develop, we
must look a few steps forward. Therefore, it is very important not to lose the
younger generation, to implant in them that spark, that fire of love for the
Motherland, which help us live, build and fight," the Head of
State said.
Take my sincere congratulations on February 23 –
Defender of the Fatherland Day! It is a special holiday for our State. Today
residents of our Republic are fighting for freedom and independence up in arms.
We battle and win! And participation of each resident of the Donetsk People's
Republic is important in this people’s struggle.
This day I want to congratulate and thank for
service not only military personnel protecting our boundaries. Thanks to all
the Donbass residents, patriots of the Russian world who have remained
committed to their land, Homeland, and history. The Donetsk People's Republic
appreciates the toil of labour fronts' workers, teachers, doctors, housing and
utility services – all those who didn't surrender to the criminal Nazi regime
which had come into power in Kiev. Today all of us, everyone in his/her
position, are defending ideals of justice, freedom and equality. And I am sure
– the God is on our side, the Truth is with us, and it means that we shall win!
On February 23 it is customary to congratulate men.
But this day we cannot but spare a thought of our heroic women who rose to
defend our Homeland on equal terms with men. Hundreds of women are serving in
the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Donetsk People's Republic. Daily risking
life, our sisters, wives, mothers show miracles of dedication and courage. For
example, last year, for the first time in the country, a woman was awarded with
the Star of the Hero of the Donetsk People's Republic – Yekaterina Panfilova
who had brought hundreds of wounded soldiers of our army from the battlefield
on her delicate shoulders.
Defender of the Fatherland Day, as well as Victory
Day, is a tearful holiday for us. Unfortunately, war claims lives of the best.
Our friends, fellow soldiers perish. This day I would like to pay a tribute to
the memory of all those who gave life for the future of the Donetsk People's
Republic. We bow down before you. Your feat, your sacrifices will not be
forgotten by descendants…
Dear fellow countrymen, on this holiday I wish you
all the best health, overwhelming happiness and wellbeing! Let prosperity
always reign at your homes, harmony - in your hearts, and only peace – in the
skies over our Fatherland!
