First cadets of Republic
swear fealty to Homeland

On
December 5, the pupils of School No. 4 Cadet Corps swore the "Cadet
Oath" for the first time in the Republic. The ceremonial event was visited
by the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed
Forces Alexander Zakharchenko.
The Head
of State handed the Banner of the Cadet Corps over to the educational
institution, then 105 students gave the "Cadet Oath", and also
received the first cadet identity documents. In addition, Alexander
Zakharchenko presented the director Oksana Tselikovskaya with a special present
- a saber of 1913, with which a guard of honour of the Cadet Corps will march.
"I was looking at the guys and my eyes were watering. This is my home school, but I never thought that I would participate in such an event. I'm happy and proud! Today a significant event for you, the Cadets, has taken place. This is a step into a new life. I do not know whether you will become a military person or not, but I am sure that you will be real citizens and patriots who will selflessly love their Homeland and make it rich and prosperous. Everything is in your hands, you are our future. Today you have a holiday. You received the banner and swore an oath. I congratulate you, parents and teaching staff, on this day!" Alexander Zakharchenko said.
The
rector of the Church of the Holy New Martyrs archpriest Andrey blessed the
young cadets. The head of the Donetsk Military Combined Arms Command School,
Mikhail Tikhonov, stressed that being a Cadet is proud and honourable. A great
future opens for the children - it is service in law enforcement agencies, the
army, the medical school, and in the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
After the
solemn events, the Head of Republic talked with parents and cadets in an
informal atmosphere. The students took a photo with the Commander-in-Chief as a
memento.
The
opening of the Cadet Corps took place on September 1, 2017, in accordance with
the Order of the Head of the DPR. Students are on full state support. The
creation of the educational institution is connected with the concept of
continuous education, adopted in the Donetsk People's Republic. The Republican
orphan lyceum with reinforced military-physical training named after G.T.
Beregovoy and the Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School needed the
initial link of military training – the Cadet Corps.
In
addition to the basic school curriculum, the cadet pupils studying at school
master additional general education programmes designed to prepare minors for
military or other public service. In addition, future graduates will have
privileges on admission to military and legal schools - professional
educational organizations of the Ministry of Defense, and girls - to
educational institutions related to the medical direction, which are under the
supervision of the Health Ministry.
