Alexander Zakharchenko: "Republic is no place for judges-traitors"

Alexander Zakharchenko: "Republic is no place for judges-traitors"

Wednesday, January 10, 2018 - 17:10

Today, on January 9, the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic met with judges who had entered into the second cadence.

The Head of State thanked the judges for the establishment of the system and productive work for the three war years, and also set the main task for them in the near future.

"Today, the justice system of the DPR is marking its third anniversary. This is a short period, for which we managed to do a lot. Believe me, we appreciate your work. This was a hard time, we faced serious problems in the development of the sector. But we overcame these difficulties. The courts of the Donetsk People's Republic are working, people apply, decisions are issued.

As for the negative, I can note the fact that in the Republic there are still a lot of court cases, which had been opened before 2014. Dear friends, we need to break up with our Ukrainian past. There is no way back, we are on the path of independence of the state. And we are building the state with our own hands. Therefore, I strongly demand to take care in the near future of the affairs that go back from 2014. This is your most operational task.

I know that the position of the Supreme Court is to categorically deny employment to the judges who fled Donbass at the beginning of the war. I fully share this position. Here return opportunists, who in the most difficult times left to seek a life elsewhere. These people have no place in the Republic. The honour of the judge should not be tarnished, but the person who has once betrayed will betray a second time. We all shared the fate of our state, and we are fighting for it. You are standing on guard of law and order. This should be the basic principle of the work of the judges," Alexander Zakharchenko said.
