Donetsk Defense: Situation Report, 09.05.2016

Monday, May 9, 2016 - 15:50

The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic continues to aggravate.

The enemy daily increases the number of bombardments of the territory of the Republic. Over the past day the Ukrainian military shelled the territory of the Republic a hundred sixty-three times. The enemy launched twenty-one 82mm mortar shells. In addition, in the shelling there were used infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different types and small arms.

The Ukrainian military opened fire at such localities as Yakovlevka, Spartak, Abakumovo, Novognatovka, Yasinovataya, Staromaryevka, Vasilievka, Naberezhnoye, Sakhanka, Tavricheskoye, the Gagarine mine, the area of the airport and the Petrovsky district of Donetsk city.

The responsibility for the ceasefire violations by the uncontrolled Nazis lies with the brigade commanders  Krasilnikov, Delyatinsky, Melnik and Shaptala.

All the data about the Minsk Agreements violations was handed over to representatives of the JCCC and OSCE mission.

The DPR intelligence continues to report the amassing of heavy weapons along the contact line.
- In Volnovakha (13 km away from the contact line) there was detected the arrival of up to sixty units of armoured equipment (tanks, motorised artillery systems, howitzers, including 152mm MSTA-B);
- In Rozovka (13 km away from the contact line) there was detected the arrival of up forty units of armoured equipment (tanks, motorised artillery systems, howitzers, including 152mm MSTA-B);
- In Prokhorovka (14 km away from the contact line) there were detected five tanks, three motorised artillery systems and one MLRS BM-21 Grad;
- In Novosyolovka-Vtoraya (8 km away from the contact line), on the territory of a farm there were detected two howitzers D-30 and one tank.
Today we are celebrating the 71st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War!

However, the enemy is willing to turn even this day into a tragedy. In particular, in the early morning a subversive group of the enemy, without any consideration of possible casualties among the civilians, tried to undermine a repository of combustive-lubricating materials. This terrorist attack was prevented by combined actions of the military and guards on duty. The vigilance of our soldiers is not weakened even for a minute, even in the brightest days of our lives, and the enemy will not be able to find a slack in our defense, as there is none. No one can blacken this holy day of memory of our fathers and grandfathers’ feats, who put all their strength on the altar of the Great Victory!

Personally and on behalf of the Command of the Armed Forces of the Donetsk People's Republic, I want to congratulate all the residents of our great holiday! To express our gratitude to the veterans: our winners and liberators! To wish you all good health, clear skies and success in all your endeavours!

This day unites all those who have not forgotten the heroism of their ancestors, who remember the heroism of their grandfathers and great grandfathers! For us, this day is a symbol of the victory of the Soviet people over fascism! This day is a spectacular event in our history, which inspires us to new victories! This day is one for all those who liberated our land from the Nazis and the fascist invaders!Who cleared our Motherland of Bandera evil! Who is now opposing to the revival of fascism in Ukraine! Today we are in the same ranks - the residents, the soldiers of the Republic and the Immortal Regiment!

We remember, we are proud! Glory to the Victors!
